The Opportunity:

Our Racing Operations team is seeking a passionate Racing Operations Manager to oversee and manage key accountabilities in the Racing Operations department. This role will be working in conjunction with key stakeholders to deliver a fixture and program that ensures maximum returns are delivered. This role will be managing Victorian Jumps Racing which includes formulating and consulting on the Annual Race Program, prizemoney strategy and providing strategies to enhance the safety improvements of Victorian Jumps Racing. The successful incumbent will also be responsible for developing racing initiatives and strategies to ensure Racing Victoria has the best Racing product.

This role will have responsibility developing and maintaining stakeholder relationship and providing assistance to the GM International and Racing Operations in regards to compiling Board Reports around Race Dates and Race Programs where required. The successful incumbent would be required to possess strong analytical skills and is expected to provide the Racing Operations team wagering and field analysis which include highlighting trends and future forecasts. 

  • Thorough knowledge of the Racing Industry, specific knowledge of Race Dates, Race programmes, Jumps Racing and Super VOBIS. 
  • Excellent oral and communication skills
  • Proven problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to work as a team member.
  • Demonstrated strong stakeholder management skills to build effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders from a variety of backgrounds
  • Proven ability to analyse statistical data, market forces and apply to obtain successful outcomes.
