About the Opportunity

The Equine Welfare Program Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the implementation of the Equine Welfare Strategic Plan. This role is expected to monitor and report on the progress of the initiatives. This role would also require the incumbent the be involved in developing and controlling department budget and IT initiatives.

This is a key role to support and roll out the Equine Welfare programs and supporting the Equine Welfare team to deliver on major projects.

You will have previous business improvement Program and Project Management experience, ideally in managing and implementing programs. The ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships and all level of the organisation and have strong negotiation skills will help you succeed.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Document and report on success measures for the Equine Welfare Strategic Plan.
  • Drive the implementation of the Equine Welfare Strategic Plan.
  • Support the Equine Welfare Team to prioritise delivery of key projects.
  • Monitor the schedule, risks and outcomes of the programs from the Equine Welfare Strategic Plan.
  • Identify system and process improvements to respond to the needs of the Equine Welfare Strategic Plan.
  • Assist with managing and monitoring the budget allocated to the Equine Welfare Taskforce accordingly.

About You

As the successful candidate, you possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Business/Commerce or a related discipline.
  • Previous project management experience across all project phases i.e. ‘cradle to grave’.
  • Previous experience of managing a budget.
  • The ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships and across all levels of the organisation and have strong negotiation skills to succeed.
  • The ability to take ownership of programs and projects, whilst working collaboratively with the project teams, including external vendors.
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically with a high level of discretion for confidential information.
  • Demonstrated passion or a strong interest in Equine Welfare
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and the integrity of the Victorian racing industry.
  • Current and valid Driver’s Licence.
  • Minimum intermediate level of skill with MS Office suite of programs.
