Racing Victoria (RV) is one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations, and the independent governing body of thoroughbred racing in Victoria. We develop, promote and manage the conduct of the racing of thoroughbred horses in Victoria to safeguard its integrity.
We are looking for a People & Culture Business Partner to join our team. With a focus on the employee experience being at the heart of our People & Culture strategy, this role is diverse and has a broad reach across all areas of Racing Victoria.
The Opportunity:
The primary purpose of the People & Recruitment Business Partner is to provide support and guidance to senior leaders and managers across RV. This role is also responsible for the coordination and management of recruitment activities at Racing Victoria.
Critical to the success of this role is to support the P&C team to provide optimal service delivery through the provision of accurate, efficient and effective support and coordinate key people processes.
Key Responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Recruitment
- Manage end-to-end recruitment activities
- Undertake role briefs, sourcing strategies and advice on selection processes
- Act as a first point of contact for potential and successful candidates
- Manage the effective onboarding of new starters to ensure team members are integrated quickly and processes are seamless
- Business Partnering
- Provide professional, strategic and operational HR advice on the interpretation of P&C policies and procedures, employment legislation, recruitment strategies, and managing change processes, providing risk analysis to support this.
- Constructively challenge decisions which are not in best interest of the organisation
- Provide coaching and advice to leaders across the organisation. This includes all people processes, aligning to the broader People & Culture Strategy
- Work closely with leaders to develop and implement people strategies building deeper capability and driving performance
- Monitor the pulse of employees and develop plans to drive engagement and performance
- Systems and Governance
- Contribute to, and lead as nominated, the development, implementation and review of P&C plans, policies, systems and projects
- Monitor and update human resources information systems, including recruitment system
- Ensure Racing Victoria reflects policy, legislative and statutory requirements
About you:
As the successful candidate, you must possess the following:
- Strong expertise in generalist HR partnering / advising
- Experience in a face-paced, dynamic environment
- Demonstrated ability to engage and build effective working relationships with key internal stakeholders
- Sound understanding of HR related technologies
- Some knowledge, experience, interpretation and application of relevant legislation governing employment, human resources and industrial relations. Includes: Fair Work Act, Awards, Agreements, etc
- Focus on the delivery of exceptional customer service \
- The ability to get involved in the detail and be ‘hands on’ as required
