Racing Victoria (RV) is one of Australia’s leading sporting organisations, and the independent governing body of thoroughbred racing in Victoria. We develop, promote and manage the conduct of the racing of thoroughbred horses in Victoria to safeguard its integrity.

We are looking for a suitably qualified Quality Engineer to join our Digital Transformation & Technology Team.

The Opportunity:

The role of Quality Engineer at RV will be responsible for the hands-on creation, maintenance and execution of quality assurance processes for Racing Victoria related applications, websites, functions and infrastructure.

Critical to the success of this role is the ability and passion for delivering quality solutions and the automation of process to allow for contributing to technical planning such as requirements gathering, task estimation and proof-of-concept builds.

You will be driven, confident and proactive in your interactions with various and diverse stakeholders to achieve a desirable outcome.

Key Responsibilities are but not limited to:

  • Design, develop, automate and monitor tests for data ETL services
  • Design, develop, automate and monitor tests for APIs, event queues and other integration points
  • Design, develop, automate and monitor tests for web-based and headless applications
  • Build and automate test suites to ensure the functional accuracy, drive standards compliance, correctness and feature performance
  • Liaise with technology peers across the Racing industry and where required with RV’s third-party technology partners in the design and delivery of RV initiatives;
  • Create and maintain technical documentation relating to quality engineering and enhancements.

About you:

As the successful candidate, you must possess the following:

  • Strong knowledge of modern quality engineering practices, test automation tools and processes, performance testing and hands-on security testing;
  • Enterprise-level experience with orchestration of AWS native services;
  • Experience in test framework architecture, SQA methodologies and feature coverage analysis;
  • Proficiency in building and orchestrating container-based test automations;
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and branching methodologies;
  • Experience creating Unit Tests and an understanding of BDD;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and show a willingness to adapt and learn;
  • Solid understanding and experience of working in an Agile delivery environment;
  • Customer-focussed with an ability to drive positive business outcomes;
  • Degree in Software Development or related discipline.
