The Opportunity:
Racing Victoria is offering the exciting opportunity for a budding professional photographer to gain practical industry experience within our photography division; Racing Photos.
The cadetship will enable a passionate individual to work alongside professionals, shooting some of the most sought-after photos in Victorian media. You will be considered one of the team and will have the ability to develop and refine your professional photography skills, working with leading professionals in the field.
You will build on your expertise as both a photography and business management professional and your week will be split between shooting at race meets and events and in the office. When at our HQ in Flemington you will work across customer service, sales and administration to build your understanding and expertise in how these elements of our business operate.
You’ll be given the opportunity to elevate and contribute to your personal portfolio, as well as gain practical skills under the mentorship of experienced professionals.
You will be offered incredible networking opportunities, getting to know experts across intersecting fields of photography, media and sport. There is a huge potential for growth within this role, with possible expansion into a full-time position at the completion of the 24-month Cadetship.

About You:
You hold, or are nearing completion, in a relevant qualification. You are driven by your passion for photography and are seeking the opportunity to develop your skills and join the professional photography world. Eager to learn and develop, you are a motivated individual with the ability to work cooperatively in teams and take direction. You respond well to constructive feedback as you constantly look to improve your work. You cope well in a fast-paced environment.
You have strong skills in DSLR action photography and Photoshop, and a keen eye for detail. You have a ‘can do’ attitude and are extremely organised, and a strong communicator. You are motivated by long term success in the photography industry.
