The Role:

Our Infrastructure team is looking for a proactive, career focussed individual to join us as an Applications and Service Desk Support Engineer. Your typical day will see you provide phone and remote support to all enterprise users.

We provide a shared support service to RV and 30 racing related entities both onsite and across the state, ensuring the best possible user experience will be your primary accountability.

As the ‘go to’ person for all applications requests within our Service Desk team, you will provide 1st and 2nd level support for application configuration, troubleshooting and resolution. You will also support users with systems queries, software upgrades and maintenance.

Our network consists of a multitude of applications and systems involving Microsoft, Java and networking technologies. This role will focus on providing level 1 and 2 support for websites such as: Racing Photos, Best Bets/ Winning Post and internal I.T infrastructure.

You will have the opportunity to shadow senior members of our team and work across a broad range of projects as you develop your applications expertise.

What you need:

You can confidently code in multiple programming languages and ideally have some practical experience in a service desk/application support role alongside your university studies. You will be willing to take on new challenges, be flexible, contribute as a team player and show initiative to succeed in this role.

Additionally, you are:

  • Able to consistently deliver a high level of application support to our customers;
  • Able to problem solve and perform diagnostic tests before coming up with the best solution;
  • Experienced in supporting applications and systems on Windows and Microsoft technology;
  • Experienced with helpdesk logging software and remote management tools;
  • Outstanding customer support approach and ability to understand their issues and requirements;
  • Follow good process and procedures for consistent customer outcomes;
  • Able to confidently code in multiple programming languages ideally Java, HTML or CSS;
  • Driven to succeed with a positive attitude to problem solving.
